Mountains

lyrics

I climbed a mountain
To see all that I can
Take all the sounds of the world
For inspiration.
I've run out of rhymes all of my good ideas
Are watered down by fear
Where did the time go?
I’m mumbling away, my days feel numbered.

I follow sunshine
Stay always in the light
Never alone in the dark
It's paralysing.
I’ve run out of nerve, oh my bravery
Is pale and wavering.
Where did my heart go?
I'm cowering here my powers deserting me.

I started off with a head full of stolen ideas
so I can’t explain them.
It's hard to summon borrowed tears
and have you believe them.
As I age, great expectations
Arise and fall, no trace at all remains

Further and further more
Lost than I was before.
Hope for a guide that for evermore
I will always abide.
When did I lose my way?
My direction, an empty reflection
Of all these idle days
Walk through the wilderness I know no better than this.

I started off with a head full of stolen ideas
so I can’t explain them.
It's hard to summon borrowed tears
and have you believe them.
As I age, great expectations
Arise and fall, no trace at all remains.

Well yeah, I've lost
My way in life.
It's time for me to find
Something real, something mine.
Mine.
